My parkour history

I started practising parkour and tricking when I was thirteen years old. Me and my friend Patrik didn't really attend any specific sport at that time Even though leksand is at town full of options, we got; baseball, hockey, floorball, fotball and a lot more, but nothing that really caught our interest. We found about an extremsport called "parkour" through youtube, where people did these crazy things like jumping from roof to roof, running on walls and were doing different kinds of flips.
We got really inspired and we started almost instantly to practise, but after a while we relised that even if it was looking cool on the internet, its dangerous and we had to find a way to practise this sport the safest way possible. Me, Patrik and two other boys, Hampus and Axel who also got an intereset of parkour, took contact with Leksands gymnastic assosiation and was wondering if it was possible to rent and use their equipment. Unfortunatly that wasn't possible, but it led to something even better. They were wondering if we wanted to cooperate with them and create a new group within the assosiation for parkour, where we were the leaders.
For two years were teaching parkour, freerunning and tricking every sunday night from 06.00-08.00pm, but after two years we started high school and Hampus and Axel didn't go to the local high school. Instead they moved to stockholm and started on a high school which was specialized in cirkus. I found that really awesome, but unfortunatly they could not continue as leaders for the group.
Me and Patrik continued to teach without Hampus and Axel and we even got ourself a new leader to help us. His name is Tobias and is an excellent resors that makes it possible for us to have up to 30 students on our practise.
We are currently the largest group in the gymnastic assosiation and we have resently made a new group for even younger children to learn, where the youngest one is six years old.
Even though I haven't learn even half of all the things I would like to be able to do, it's still satisfying to be able to do all the things I've already learned and practising parkour is a really good way to meditate and a way to make the mind to relax.
Whenever I feel that I have to slowdown and calm myself, I usally just go out on the yard and do some flips for five minutes and after that I feel at peace.
